“It all began with the belief that every child has the right to quality, accessible, and inclusive education”
Back in 2007, the provincial council of PAMANA – Aurora concocted a plan to provide scholarships to help the neediest children among the peasant and indigenous sector this later on became a region-wide project that reached all provinces across Central Luzon under the supervision of Alay Bayan Luzon. It was carried through with the stand that education should not only help uplift the poor children but also give them opportunities and a better future, despite their economic status.
At present time, the scholarship program has helped over 230 youth to continue and finish their studies.
With the untimely death of Willem in 2012, we built and established a Training Center for Oraganic Farming that we named after him, – Willem Geertman Organic Farming and Training Center. The farm and Training Center is located in Arayat, Pampanga and even though it’s not yet completed, it has already provided a useful series of training and educational discussions to aid the farmers in the province.
Many children, youth and farmers in the region had benefited from our program.
The scholarship program gave the youth, who have the dream to pursue their future, the opportunity to see it through. As a way of gratitude, the students have done well in the paths that they ventured through. The students were able to tap into their creativity and passions, realizing the true value of an education. They learned how to communicate, understand, and while also mastering how to stand up for themselves and others in spite of cultural differences. Most importantly, they learned the value of human rights and how it is imperative for us to persist in defending it. Not only did the students learn to care for other people and the environment, but also they learned about critical thinking, responsibility and the importance of service. They’re now advocates of volunteerism as they lead and join relief operations, medical missions and other love for nature type of activities.
We have invested in years of providing these youths with relevant learning opportunities to ensure they will be equipped with valuable knowledge and skills that most of us take for granted.
All of this became possible because of the Willem Geertman Youth Formation Center in Aurora and Willem Geertman Volunteer Brigade of Alay Bayan Luson who continued the advocacy of Willem and of course, the Stitching Filipinos.
We know that many of you have been facing difficulties in your work and fundraising efforts. The youth and peasants of central Luzon would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the help extended by everyone. We hope that we are not alone as we struggle to rebuild from one crisis to the other.
Mabuhay ang Stitching Filipinos and the donors that continue to believe and support with Willem Geertman advocacies!
In behalf of Pamana and Alay Bayan Luson, Our heartfelt thanks 🙏

Willem Geertman 3 juli 2012 – 3 juli 2022

Hartelijke groet,
Elisabeth, Josine, Herman enToon
onslaught by typhoon Ullysses with International name Vamcosa the Central Luzon and the Willem Geertman and training center did not spare by this typhoon.
The pictures below the office and the caretakers house. And the other photos was the rice fields that supposedly scheduled to harvest tomorrow, November 17.
We are so sad about this.
“Willem Geertman Farm and Training Center Brgy. Baliti, Arayat, Pampanga.”
In Central Luzon, Aurora province was also declared under the state of calamity because of big effect on livelihoods and shelters especially to those who are living in the coastal barangay. In Casiguran, the barangay of Tabas (50 Families) and Cozo – 35 families. In San Luis are Dicapinisan and Dimanayat, and Dingalan, Aurora.
We want to ask for support for our farmers for their immediate needs for foods and seeds for their farm like rice and corn.
For the WG farm we need materials for repair of the roof.
Thank you in behalf of Alay Bayan Luson and Central Luzon Disasters Response Network.

Typhoon Ullysses
One of our relief works in Pampanga who are one of the hardly hit by the recent typhoon Ullysses.
More areas until now are not yet recovered from this destructive disaster.

Het “no work no pay ” principe maakt het leven vrijwel onmogelijk.
